A Bit of History
We are often asked how a brewery based in the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland, came to call its best selling beer “Trade Winds”, with the image of a Clipper in full sail representing the beer.
This beer was, in fact, one of a number of beers which were acquired when we purchased all the brands and assets of the Tomintoul Brewery in 2000. Originally an IPA, Trade Winds was brewed to celebrate the Tall Ships race which came to Aberdeen in 1997. Our Head Brewer subsequently tweaked the recipe with the addition of elderflowers, creating this most refreshing of beers. In addition to adding their unique aroma to the beer elderflowers, being a natural fermenter, enhance the fermention process.
Enjoy With
This fresh beer is perfect with white meats and summer salads. The elderflower flavours are perfect with lettuce and cucumber or with a zesty Key Lime Pie.
Serve cool at 8-9 degrees.
